On our website you will find all you need to create stunning couture hand knitted garments and accessories using Yorkshire spun Cashmere. Our patterns and yarns are locally inspired and sourced and we are very excited that we can share them with knitters around the world.

Our Designs

Yarntelier Hand Knitting patterns are designed and written by Louisa Harding, each season she creates a new collection, inspiration coming from the Yorkshire landscape and the intricacies of the knitted stitch.

Louisa creates her hand knitting patterns for Yarntlier’s exquisite Cashmere yarns working from her atelier studio located in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, having spent years refining her design skills. In her patterns every hand knitted stitch dictates the shape, drape and fluidity of the garment or accessory, every item a piece of hand crafted couture. Each design collection contains patterns that are suitable for the beginner knitter as well as those who are looking for a knitting challenge.

Louisa is currently working on collaborations with knitting and crochet designers who have their own vision for the Yarntelier collection of Cashmere Yarns and we are excited to bring these to you in the near future.

Our Yarn

Yarntelier Cashmere Lace and Gilli yarns are produced in England within a very small area in Yorkshire by companies steeped in textile heritage and history using only the finest materials and equipment available.

Cashmere Lace is an exquisite fine 100% Cashmere yarn, the yarn is woolen spun which results in colours that are classic with an elegant subtlety. Cashmere Lace is available in 16 shades and is ideal for lace knitting as each 50g ball has approx. 425 metres of lofty, luxurious yarn.

Cashmere Gilli is truly unique, a bespoke twisted 100% Cashmere yarn, especially made for Yarntelier by a specialist doubling company established in 1872. The colour palette of 12 shades features subtle marl mixes as well as some hotter couture combinations. The yarn is light and airy when knitted to a double knitting tension and is ideal for all types of knitting with approx. 212 metres on each 50g ball.
